I Know That Jesus Lives

Shall I tell you what I know about Jesus? His coming was foretold

By men in Old Testament stories, by prophets and seers of old.

He’d come from royal lineage: The household of David the King.

A new star would shine at His coming. A host of angels would sing.

But above all else, I know that Jesus lives!

I leave this with you: I know that Jesus lives!

And at the appointed time, his ministry began.

He called twelve apostles, and made them all fishers of men.

Soon throughout all of the country, stories of Jesus were heard:

His miracles of healing; His gospel and his word.

But above all else, I know that Jesus lives!

I leave this with you: I know that Jesus lives!

Then to fulfill what was written, our Lord was crucified.

For three days the people mourned for their teacher, their Master, their friend…

But then the news, the wondrous news: Jesus lives again!

And above all else, I know that Jesus lives!

I leave this with you: He lives! He lives! He lives!
